FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ's This page may answer questions about our dance costume hire.

  • Will you provide costume bags or coat hangers for my hired items?

Not normally, unless it’s a tutu. If collecting, please bring your own. If you don’t have one I will wrap your costumes in washed bed sheets, they normally only need a hang to look fine again. Worn costumes are to be returned in the same washed bed sheets, so they air, and without coat hangers to avoid potential damage thank you.

If returning by registered post or courier, please return the same way you received them.

  • DO NOT wash or spot clean costumes

PLEASE don’t wash or spot clean our costumes in any way. Many are part of a set so will be all washed together if I’m concerned about colour stability or I’ve personally dyed them (such as the burnt orange tie dyed group of costumes displayed on our home page). I also have highly experienced washing angels who will wash the costumes you hire as part of your hire fee. If a costume is stained with lipstick etc please put it in a separate bag clearly marked ‘stained’. You may want to wash it if it still needs to be worn – however please contact me through our Facebook page for guidance.

  • When is payment due?

We are happy to accept payment at any time however funds must be received before we release items. If we have a request for the same items at the same time we will be asking for a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold them for you.

  • Stocktake?

When your costumes arrive please take the time to ensure all items are accounted for. If there are any discrepancies contact us immediately.

  • What happens if a costume arrives faulty or is damaged or lost in the hirer's care?

Please let us know as soon as possible and we'll advise the best way to move forward. We may have access to extra costumes or can advise the best way to repair. Please see the contact section of the website, if urgent please use Facebook's Messenger as I can check this easily between teaching classes. We are aware that accidents happen and hope to resolve problems quickly.

The majority of our costumes are what I consider irreplaceable. This means the cost to replace is prohibitive or materials are no longer available. Repairs to costumes damaged by hirers, that are not considered general wear and tear, will be charged at $60 per hour. Costumes destroyed – where the damage is clearly visible, will be charged at the replacement rate. Hirers are welcome to query replacement fees before hiring.
